Bridgeport Falls Twice At Home In Non-Conference Softball Action Againt Nyack

Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport softball team fell in both ends of a home, non-conference doubleheader on Monday afternoon in Seaside Park versus the visiting Nyack College Warriors, losing game one, 7-5 in nine innings, and dropping game two, 7-1.  UB is now and even 22-22 overall, and Nyack raises its season mark to 10-28.

In game one, senior Kamryn Beach (Tampa, Fla.) went 3-for-4 at the plate for the Purple Knights, and freshman Kaira Ramon (Stamford, Conn.) and senior Yalitza Rodriguez (Freeport, N.Y.) each had two runs batted in.  Sophomore Abbigail Blanchard (Pawcatuck, Conn.) had two hits for UB in the opener.

In the nightcap, Beach drove in the only Bridgeport run with a sixth inning hit.

Up next, the UB softball team returns to East Coast Conference play at St. Thomas Aquinas on Thursday afternoon.  Game one is scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. first pitch.
