UB Softball Checks In At Number Eight In First NCAA Regional Rankings Of 2022 Season

Indianapolis, Indiana-The University of Bridgeport softball team checks in at number eight in the list of ten teams ranked in the first NCAA Division II Regional Rankings of the 2022 season released on Wednesday afternoon.

Each of the eight NCAA Division II softball regionals this season will be made up of eight teams this season that will play in two four-team regionals followed by a super-regional to determine the teams that will advance to the NCAA Division II Finals.

Listed from the East Region are (with team records through Sunday, April 17 with overall record first followed by in-region record):

1-Adelphi (26-10, 23-5)
2- Georgian Court (25-11, 23-5)
3-Caldwell ((26-7, 26-4)
4- Franklin Pierce (16-4, 16-4)
5-Wilmington (Del.) ((23-15, 20-10)
6- Saint Anselm (19-12, 14-6)
7-Pace (20-9, 28-8)
8-Bridgeport (25-12, 21-10)
9-St. Thomas Aquinas (19-15, 18-13)
10-New Haven (14-14, 12-9)

The NCAA will release two more listing of regional rankings the following two Wednesdays (April 27 and May 4) before the final field of eight for the NCAA Regional is released on Monday, May 9.
