Purple Knights Hold Steady At Number Eight In NCAA Regional Softball Rankings
Team Will Close Out The Regular Season At Home On Friday And Saturday Versus Mercy And St. Thomas Aquinas
Indianapolis, Indiana-The University of Bridgeport softball team held steady at number eight in the list of ten teams ranked in the second NCAA Division II Regional Rankings of the 2022 season released on Wednesday afternoon.
Each of the eight NCAA Division II softball regionals this season will be made up of eight teams this season that will play in two four-team regionals followed by a super-regional to determine the teams that will advance to the NCAA Division II Finals.
Listed from the East Region are (with team records through Sunday, April 24 with overall record first followed by in-region record):

4- Wilmington (Del.) (26-16, 23-11)
5- Saint Anselm (24-13, 19-7)
6- Pace (25-12, 23-11)
7- Franklin Pierce (19-7, 19-6)
8-Bridgeport (28-13, 24-11)
9-St. Thomas Aquinas (22-18, 21-16)
10-Bentley (20-16, 17-11)
The NCAA will release one more listing of regional rankings on May 4 before the final field of eight for the NCAA Regional is released on Monday, May 9.

Head coach Dawn Stearns and her team are back in action on Friday for an East Coast Conference doubleheader at home versus Mercy before hosting St. Thomas Aquinas on Saturday.
