Senior Kaite Burawski and senior Angela Oros were each voted to the organization’s All-East Second Team.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - Following superb seasons that concluded at last week's NCAA East Regional, a pair of student-athletes from the University of Bridgeport's softball team have been named to NFCA All-Region Teams. Senior Kaite Burawski and senior Angela Oros were each voted to the organization's All-East Second Team.
Oros, who was also selected to the CACC's All-Conference First Team last month, led the Purple Knights in almost every offensive category. The Arizona native ranked first on the squad in batting average (.363), slugging percentage (.568), RBIs (38), hits (53), doubles (13), and home runs (5). She also hammered the most extra-base hits on the team with 19.
Oros was named to the CACC's All-Tournament Team after batting .429 with 4 RBIs during UB's four tournament games. She registered the game-winning RBI single in Bridgeport's victory over the top team in the region, Wilmington, which subsequently helped the Purple Knights to a bid into the NCAA Tournament.
Oros registered at least one hit in 30 games this season and had 15 contests where she recorded multiple hits. She saved some of her best performances for the end of the season as she batted .413 across 17 games in the month of April. During UB's CACC playoff win over Caldwell, she registered a home run, two doubles and a single.
Burawski, meanwhile, continued her spectacular UB career with yet another strong campaign in the circle. She joined Oros on the CACC's All-Conference First Team after being named the ECC's Pitcher of the Year in 2021 and 2022.
Burawski posted a 2.67 ERA this season across 28 appearances and 175.2 innings pitched. She finished the year second in the CACC in strikeouts (221). Burawski joined Oros as well on the CACC's All-Tournament Team after going 3-0 with a 1.00 ERA across 21.0 innings pitched.
Burawski also served as the winning pitcher during Bridgeport's best win of the season against Wilmington in the CACC semifinals. She allowed just two runs on four hits with five strikeouts across the complete seven innings of action.
All in all, Burawski piled up 23 complete games and logged 10 games this season where she posted double-digit strikeouts. Burawski dominated the month of April courtesy of a 1.24 ERA across 73.1 innings pitched.
