Bio
Sal Raucci was named an assistant coach for the University of Bridgeport’s softball team in August of 2025.

Coach Sal’s love for the game began at Platt Tech High School, where he was a four-year captain on the baseball team. After graduation, he competed at a high level in slow-pitch softball for five years as a shortstop, traveling the East Coast. He began coaching in 2014 at Valley Fusion, gaining experience across Little League and travel programs at the 10U, 12U, 14U, and 16U levels.

Coach Sal eventually launched his own program five years ago, helping guide teams ranging from 14U national squads to the USSSA All-American Team, and later 16U and 18U national teams. His coaching journey has taken him across the country, leading teams in tournaments from California and Colorado to Florida, Illinois, and the Northeast.

Currently, Coach Sal serves as Head of Softball Operations for the “Run & Gun Lady Nightmares” and is the head coach of the 18U national team. In addition, he runs and designs clinics, practices, game plans, and strategies that continue to elevate his athletes’ development and success.
