Softball's Morgan Earns CACC Player of the Week Honors
Batted .370 with nine RBIs during UB's 7-3 stretch last week.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Following a superb season-opening trip to Florida, junior McKenzie Morgan of the University of Bridgeport's softball team has been selected as the CACC's Player of the Week.
Morgan put together an outstanding stretch at the plate, helping the Purple Knights post a 7-3 record across 10 games. The Long Island native hit .370 during the week while driving in nine runs. Morgan recorded at least one hit in seven contests, finishing the stretch with three doubles and a home run. She also drew three walks, boosting her on-base percentage to an impressive .469 for the week.
Morgan and the rest of UB's softball team will return to action on Saturday with a home doubleheader against AIC (1 p.m.).
