Softball's Jones Garners CACC Player of the Week Honors
Went 10-for-14 with five RBIs and three walks during a five-game stretch last week.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Following a scorching stretch at the plate last week, senior Mya Jones of the University of Bridgeport's softball team has been named as the CACC's Player of the Week. This is Jones' fourth weekly conference award in her standout UB career.
Jones put together a superb offensive week, hitting an impressive .714 (10-for-14) while adding three walks, five RBIs and four runs scored across five games. She finished with a stellar .765 on-base percentage. Jones recorded a hit in all five contests and reached base multiple times in each outing. Her week was highlighted by three doubles and her 15th career home run, which came in a home matchup against Adelphi.
Jones and the rest of UB's softball team will return to action on Tuesday with a home doubleheader against Franklin Pierce (2:30 p.m.).
