Purple Knights Close Out Season With Thrilling 66-65 Overtime Home Women's Basketball Win Over Roberts Wesleyan

Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's basketball team closed out its 2021-22 in fine style Saturday afternoon with a nail-biting, 66-65, overtime win over the visiting Roberts Wesleyan College Redhawks in Hubbell Gym.  Bridgeport, winners of two games in a row to end the season, finishes the '21-22 campaign with a 9-15 overall mark and a 6-11 East Coast Conference record.  RWC fishes the regular season at 13-11 overall and 10-8 in the ECC.

Junior Stephanie McBride (Brooklyn, N.Y.) wrapped up her season with a quality double-double of a game-high in points with 19 and a game-best 15 rebounds.

Graduate students Emily Brown (Haledon, N.J.) and Janiece Loney (Herndon, Va.) closed out their UB careers with 17 and 15 points respectively.

Sophomore Brianna Meekins (Bridgeport, Conn.) finished her first season at UB with a double-double of 11 points and 14 rebounds.

Bridgeport dominated the glass in Saturday's win outrebounding Roberts Wesleyan, 56-34.

Taryn Wilson led three Redhawks in double figures with 18 points.
