UB Women's Basketball Picked Number Five In CACC's North Division Poll In Preseason Coaches' Poll

New Haven, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's basketball team has been forecast to finish fifth in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's North Division in the league's preseason poll of CACC coaches released on Wednesday.

Bridgeport is playing its inaugural season in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference in 2022-23.  Last season, UB, in its final East Coast Conference season, went 9-15 overall and posted an 8-10 ECC mark.

The top four teams in each of the CACC's division earn a spot in the conference championship tournament.  This year's conference championship semifinals and finals will be hosted by Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pa. on March 4-5, 2023.

The UB women's basketball team, under the tutelage of second-year head coach Mike West, will open its 2022-23 season against Franklin Pierce at the College of Staten Island on Saturday, November 12.  Bridgeport's home opener is set for Tuesday, November 22 at 5:00 p.m. versus Mercy College.

The Purple Knights will open this season's conference slate at Post University on November 30.
