Emily Turik Named ECAC Division II Women's Gymnastics Specialist Of The Week
Sophomore Helped Her Team Set New School Record Score Of 194.625 On With Record-Setting Individual Performance On The Bars Friday Night
Centerville, Mass.-University of Bridgeport sophomore Emily Turik (Crystal Lake, Ill.) has been selected as this week's ECAC Division II Women's Gymnastics Specialist of the Week for her fine performance on the bars in the Purple Knights' home meet versus Towson University last Friday night.
Turik continued her strong start to the 2012 campaign on the bars by setting a school record in the event and tying for first place with a score of 9.825. Bridgeport defeated Division I Towson, 194.625 to 192.475, in a dual meet on Friday evening. UB's total score of 194.625 is a team record.
This week the UB gymnastics team travel to Yale University of a quad meet on February 11. Action gets underway in New Haven, Conn. at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
