Sophomore Maya Reimers And Freshman Lauren Ramirez Earn Weekly ECAC Division II Women's Gymnastics Awards

Danbury, Conn.-A pair of University of Bridgeport women's gymnastics standouts, sophomore Maya Reimers (New York, N.Y.) and freshman Lauren Ramirez (Gilbert, Ariz.) has been named recipients of ECAC Division II Women's Gymnastics Weekly Awards for their outstanding performances in the Purple Knights' dual meet victory at home over Brown University on Sunday. January 21.

Reimers has been named the ECAC Division II Gymnast of the Week, as she won Sunday's all-around title with a score of 38.850 in the four events, as she tied for first place in the floor exercise with a score of 9.825, tied second in the vault with a score of 9.675, placed third on the beam with a score of 9.750 and was seventh on the bars with a 9.600.

Ramirez earned this week's ECAC Division II Specialist of the Week, as she took first place on the balance beam for the Purple Knights posting a score of 9.800 against Brown.

The University of Bridgeport women's gymnastics team will be back in action on Sunday, February 4th when they head to Providence, Rhode Island to face Brown again in a tri-meet that will also feature Rhode Island College.
