Lola Sepulveda Named GEC Newcomer Of The Week
Took First Place In The All-Around In Both Of The Purple Knights Meets Versus SCSU Last Weekend
West Chester, Pa.-University of Bridgeport freshman gymnast Lola Sepulveda (Woodbridge, Va.) has been named the Gymnastics East Conference Newcomer of the Week for her outstanding performance in competitions that took place form March 6 through the 12, 2023.
Sepulveda had an outstanding double meet weekend going 8 for 8 and earning first place in the all-around in both meets, Friday at Southern Connecticut State and Sunday at home versus the Owls. Lola crushed multiple season high scores and achieved an impressive career-best 39.025 in the all-around in Sunday's action. After last weekend's meet at Yale, she made it a point to spend extra time in the gym working on the physical and mental aspects of her gymnastics. She worked on every detail to make sure that she was as prepared as possible going into this weekend. Lola has contributed in the all-around in 10 out of 11 meets, and she has truly been an absolute rock for the Purple Knights.
This Saturday, Lola and her Bridgeport teammates head for Williamsburg, Virginia to compete in the 2023 Gymnastics East Conference Championship Meet hosted by William & Mary. Action will begin at 12 noon.
