Abby Kenney Earns Fifth Career GEC Gymnast of the Week Award
Kenney posted a career-best mark on bars and season-best beam score on Sunday.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – After leading the Purple Knights to their second-highest team score of the year, senior Abby Kenney has been selected as the Gymnastics East Conference (GEC) Co-Gymnast of the Week. Kenney adds a second GEC weekly honor to her resume this season and fifth for her career.
Kenney posted another outstanding performance on Sunday, capturing the all-around title at UB's quad meet at Brown that also featured LIU and Southern Connecticut State. The senior totaled a 39.125 in the all-around, marking her second-highest score of the season. Kenney also claimed the event title on bars with a career-best 9.850. She matched that score with a season-best 9.850 on beam to finish second in the event.
Kenney added a fifth-place finish on floor with a 9.800 to round out an impressive day for the Purple Knights.
