Gymnastics Delivers Season-High Score on Senior Day
Purple Knights earn a year-best 194.125, topping SCSU (192.775) while finishing just 0.175 points behind Yale.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - Making the most of both Senior Day and their final tune-up before next weekend's Gymnastics East Conference Championships, the University of Bridgeport's gymnastics team delivered a season-high score of 194.125 on Sunday inside Wheeler Recreation Center. The Purple Knights finished second in the home tri-meet, topping SCSU (192.775) while finishing just 0.175 points behind Yale.

Individual Highlights
UB's season-best score was highlighted by Abby Kenney capturing the all-around title for the second straight meet with a score of 39.125, matching her second-highest mark of the season.
The senior finished with excellent scores across multiple events, placing second on both bars and beam with identical marks of 9.775 while adding a sixth-place finish on floor with a 9.850 and tying for sixth on vault with a 9.725.
UB opened the meet on vault where Nova Staruk led the way with a tie for fourth place thanks to a 9.750. Kenney and Tamyra Singletary followed closely behind, tying for sixth with matching scores of 9.725.
The Purple Knights continued their momentum on bars with three gymnasts finishing inside the top five. Kenney paced UB with her runner-up finish (9.775), while Samantha Nokes placed third with a 9.750. Emily Hernandez and Delphine Desjardins each contributed strong routines as well, tying for fifth with scores of 9.700. Desjardins' performance served as a new career best for the freshman.
On beam, Kenney again led the charge with a tie for second at 9.775. Xiomara Jennings and Rian Thompkins added solid efforts as well, tying for sixth place with identical marks of 9.675.
Bridgeport wrapped up the meet on floor where Maggie Coyle produced the highlight of the rotation, tying for third with a career-high score of 9.875.
Kenney added another top finish with a sixth-place 9.850, while Staruk rounded out the Purple Knights' top-three with a seventh-place score of 9.800.

The Purple Knights will begin their postseason next Saturday (March 21) with the 2026 Gymnastics East Conference Championships at Cornell.
