Kenney and Staruk of UB Gymnastics Named WCGA Regular Season All-Americans

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – In recognition of marvelous 2026 campaigns, senior Abby Kenney and junior Nova Staruk of the University of Bridgeport's gymnastics team were each named regular-season All-Americans by the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) on Monday. Kenney secured her third consecutive WCGA All-America honor in the all-around, earning First-Team distinction this season, while Staruk collected Second-Team accolades on vault.
Kenney put together a dominant 2026 campaign, finishing the year with an all-around National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 38.970, the top mark in all of NCAA Division II. She posted a season-best all-around score of 39.150 on two occasions, including at the team finals of the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational Championship (WCGNIC) this past weekend.
Kenney's standout performance at nationals also earned her a pair of WCGNIC All-America honors on bars and vault. She finished the season with event highs of 9.850 on beam, bars, and vault, along with a 9.875 on floor. A consistent force in the all-around, Kenney claimed first place in six different meets during the year.
Staruk turned in a standout season of her own on vault, finishing with a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 9.835, the second-highest mark in all of NCAA Division II. She matched her season-best score of 9.850 four times, including a first-place performance at the 2026 Gymnastics East Conference Championships. That effort helped her earn a share of the conference title and be named the GEC Specialist of the Year.
Staruk continued her success on the national stage, placing second on vault at the WCGNIC individual event finals while collecting First-Team All-America honors. Her consistent excellence also earned her a spot at the prestigious NCAA Regionals, set for this Friday at the University of Kentucky in Lexington.
