Bridgeport, Conn.- The University of Bridgeport and the James Vick Foundation, in coordination with the NCAA,  will be hosting a free girls Lacrosse Clinic for young women (ages 14-18) from all over the state on Saturday September 22 from 12pm-3pm. Mikayla Place, the head coaches for the Purple Knights, along with her team, will provide instruction and other support.

Sponsored by Dress for Success, the program will provide exposure for young athletes seeking to improve their lacrosse skills and to learn about participating in college-level sports.

Following the athletic portion of the program, the young women will engage in a female symposium, in which the Purple Knight players will stage a panel discussion, and the program will welcome a guest speaker.

The James Vick Foundation is dedicated to providing free sports programming to youth while also providing opportunity for advancement on and off the field.

Stated The Jame Vick Foundation leadership, "The clinic and symposium is intended to be a celebration of women in sport, while also inspiring the next generation to believe and achieve. We are excited to offer local young women the opportunity to learn from successful women and to feel empowered by this program."
