Women's Lacrosse Voted 5th in CACC Preseason Coaches Poll
The Purple Knights are scheduled to begin their new campaign with a trip to AIC on Feb. 24.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – As the countdown to the new season hits just 23 days, the University of Bridgeport's women's lacrosse team was picked to finish fifth in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) according to the preseason coaches poll released on Thursday.
The Purple Knights are scheduled to begin their new campaign with a trip to AIC on Feb. 24. They will then play four more road contests to start the year before making their home debut on March 9 against Saint Michael's.
Bridgeport's CACC slate commences on March 20 against Caldwell as they will end the season with nine consecutive conference matchups.
The Purple Knights' roster features a total of 13 returners—six of which are now upperclassmen. UB welcomes four freshmen to the team in 2024.
Head coach Jessica Ormrod is also back for her second season leading the Purple and White. Ormrod piloted Bridgeport to six wins in 2023, including a record of 5-5 in the CACC.
