Women's Lacrosse Flies by Ferrum, 20-7
Purple Knights, now 1-1 this season, score the game's final seven goals.
FERRUM, Va. – Playing the second game of their spring break trip to North Carolina and Virginia, the University of Bridgeport's women's lacrosse team earned a dominant 20-7 win at Ferrum on Saturday. The Purple Knights will travel back to Connecticut with a 1-1 record to start 2026.
After the teams traded early goals, the Purple Knights seized command with a 10-4 surge to close the first half and carried an 11–5 lead into the break. UB then dominated the final quarter, scoring the game's last seven goals to pull away for the convincing win.
Payton Noack and Tara Dimaio powered the offense with spectacular performances, each scoring a team-high seven goals.
The duo combined for eight tallies in the first half alone and continued the onslaught after the break, while Noack also added a team-best eight draw controls and Dimaio contributed a team-high four ground balls.
Dani Strong and Elizabeth Pitts chipped in two goals apiece, while Evelyn Edwards and Emily Stuart also found the back of the net. Edwards helped orchestrate the attack with a team-high three assists.
Defensively, the Purple Knights were solid throughout, holding Ferrum scoreless in the fourth quarter. Juliana Reyes was impressive in her first career appearance in goal, making eight saves while allowing just two goals over the final 30 minutes of play.
As a team, Bridgeport held advantages in draw controls (17-11) and ground balls (22-16) while firing 33 total shots in the victory.
