Women's Soccer Remains Atop National Rankings For Fifth Consecutive Week
Men's Soccer Also Moves Up NSCAA Regional Rankings
Bridgeport, Conn.-For the fifth consecutive week, the University of Bridgeport women's soccer team is ranked number one in the country in the national NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Poll released by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) on Tuesday afternoon. The Purple Knights, who are currently 14-0-0 on the season, hold on to the number one spot in the East Regional rankings for the seventh consecutive week.
In the NSCAA national Top-25, the UB women have steadily risen throughout the season from number 17 in week one, to number seven in week two, to the number five slot in week three, to number one the last five weeks.
This week, head coach Magnus Nilerud's team wraps up the regular season with a pair of road games taking on Pace on Tuesday afternoon and Queens (N.Y.) College on Saturday.
In men's soccer, head coach Brian Quinn's team has jumped up four spots from number 10 in the East to number six. This week the UB men close out the regular season hosting Southern New Hampshire at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday and traveling to Queens (N.Y.) College on Saturday.
