Bridgeport Women Soccer Remains At Number 16 In NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II National Poll
UB Closes Out 2013 Regular Season At Queens (N.Y.) College On Wednesday Afternoon
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's soccer team, under the direction of head coach Magnus Nilerud, has remained steady in this week's NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II Women's Soccer National Poll at number 16 in the nation for the third straight week. UB entered the national rankings at number 20 five weeks ago and slotted in at number 15 one month ago.
The Purple Knights, who are currently 15-1-0 on the season and winners of 15 straight matches, close out their 2013 at Queens (N.Y.) College on Wednesday afternoon. Bridgeport wrapped up the 2013 East Coast Conference regular season title and the top-seed in the ECC Championship Tournament which will begin on Thursday, November 7, with a 4-0 home win over NYIT on Saturday evening.
The UB women's soccer team also held steady at number three in the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II East Regional rankings. The Purple Knights trail the College of St. Rose and American International College who are one and two in the region.
