UB Women's Soccer Returns To National Top-25 At Number 21
Team Travels To Stonehill And LIU Post This Week
Bridgeport, Conn.-After a one week absence, the University of Bridgeport women's soccer team, under the direction of head coach Magnus Nilerud, has returned to the Top-25 in the fifth regular season NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II National Poll. UB is ranked number 21 in this week's poll, after being ranked number eighteen two weeks ago.
UB checks in at number three in the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II East Regional rankings. The Purple Knights trail the College of St. Rose and Mercy College in the regional rankings.
Last week, Bridgeport (6-1-1 overall record) defeated Queens (N.Y.) College, 1-0, in the squad's only action. The win over Queens was also the 200th career victory for head coach Magnus Nilerud who is in his sixteenth season on his alma mater's sidelines.
This week, the Bridgeport women's soccer team is on the road for a pair of matches at Stonehill on Tuesday in non-conference action and a big East Coast Conference matchup at LIU Post on Saturday.
