Women's Soccer Remains At Number Seven In The Nation In Final Regular Season NSCAA Poll
Purple Knights Share Number Seven With Saint Leo
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's soccer team, under the direction of eighteenth-year head coach Magnus Nilerud, remained at number seven for the second straight in the final NCAA Division II National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) National Rankings of the 2016 season. Two weeks ago, UB checked in at number 13 after being slotted at number 15 three weeks ago and number 17 the week before that.
Bridgeport also held down the number 17 spot in the nation for back-to-back polls five and six weeks ago. UB was ranked number four in the NSCAA Preseason Poll and moved up to number three, five weeks ago, and the Purple Knights were slotted at number 10 in the second and third polls of the 2016 season.
This week, the UB women's soccer team hosts the winner of Friday's Stonehill versus American International College First Round match on Sunday at 12 noon in the Second Round of the 2016 NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship Tournament.
