Wilmington, Del.-A goal in the 73rd minute by host Wilmington (Del.) University's Emilie Larsen lifted the Wildcats to a 2-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's soccer win over the visiting University of Bridgeport Purple Knights on Saturday afternoon. UB is now 5-4-3 overall and 3-3-1 on conference play; while Wilmington ups its' season overall mark to 7-2-2 and moves 5-1-0 in the CACC.
After a scoreless first half, the hosts scored the first goal of the match in the 52nd minute, but UB's Tatianna Lizarraga (Grad., Tucson, Ariz.) tied the match at 1-1 with her fifth goal of the year off an assist from sophomore Solune Moll (Bern, Switzerland).
Larsen would then tally Saturday's game-winner 10 minutes later.
The Wildcats outshot the Purple Knights, 13-11, on the day and finished with a slight edge in corner kicks at 3-2.
Up next, the UB women's soccer team will look to get back in the win column on Tuesday night at Bloomfield College. CACC action in New Jersey is slated to begin at 7:00 p.m.
