FLUSHING, N.Y. – Starting the season with another neutral site game at Queens College, the University of Bridgeport's women's soccer team played to a 0-0 tie against Southern Connecticut State on Sunday. The Purple Knights are now 0-0-2 to begin the season after also drawing SNHU (0-0) on Friday afternoon.
In another defensive battle for UB, goalkeeper Angelina Griva posted her second straight clean sheet. The Greece native tallied three more saves and now has seven stops across a scoreless 180 minutes this season.
Griva allowed just 13 total goals last season to finish with a goals-against average of just 0.965 (third in the CACC). Griva started 13 games as a freshman in 2023.
Offensively, the Purple Knights forced SCSU goalkeeper Kaelen Fabry to make four saves.
