Women's Soccer Scores Four in Shutout of Felician

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Playing at Knights Field for a third time in seven days, the University of Bridgeport's women's soccer team earned a 4-0 win over Felician on Wednesday night. The comfortable victory improves the Purple Knights' record to 5-6-3 overall this season and 4-3 in the CACC.
Four different goal-scorers highlighted UB's onslaught against the Golden Falcons. Bridgeport split their tallies with two in the first half and two in the second half.
Tatianna Lizarraga put the home squad on the board in the 11th minute while fellow senior Brooke Boucher lifted the Purple Knights to a 2-0 lead in the 34th minute.
Boucher also assisted on Bridgeport's third goal just minutes into the second half. Freshman Lily Rodriguez was the willing recipient who hammered in her second goal of the year in the 47th minute.
UB's final tally on Wednesday came via a penalty kick in the 70th minute. Erika Mazza, who earned the PK, took the opportunity to record her fourth career goal.
Leigh-Ann Ramsay also picked up an assist in the game after her initial shot was saved and cleaned up by Boucher in the first half.
In addition to their four-goal explosion, the Purple Knights also played dominant defense on Wednesday. Bridgeport allowed just a single shot on net.
Despite not being tested, UB goalkeeper Angelina Griva picked up the win in net. Fellow sophomore Antia Lopez also saw action and made the only save of the game.
