Griva of Women's Soccer Recognized as CACC Goalkeeper of the Week
Tallied nine saves, allowed just one goal in a 2-0 week for UB.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Following another stellar stretch between the posts, Angelina Griva of the University of Bridgeport's women's soccer team has been named the CACC's Goalkeeper of the Week. The Greece native has now earned three conference weekly awards in her career.
Griva opened the week with a one-save shutout in a 4-0 victory over Lincoln before turning aside eight shots to backstop a 2-1 win over Georgian Court on Saturday. The junior continues to be one of the conference's top keepers, ranking third in the CACC in save percentage (.865) and third in total saves (32) this season.
Griva and the rest of UB's women's soccer team (2-1-2, 2-0 CACC) will be back in action on Wednesday at Caldwell (4 p.m.).
