CALDWELL, N.J. – Entering the afternoon on a two-game winning streak, the University of Bridgeport's women's soccer team endured a 2-1 defeat at regionally ranked Caldwell on Wednesday afternoon. The loss puts the Purple Knights' record at 2-2-2 this season, including a 2-1 mark in the CACC.
Down 2-0 at the break, the Purple Knights put together a solid second half in terms of possession and attacking chances. UB also cut the Caldwell lead in half courtesy of a 63rd-minute goal from junior Emely Zelayandia—her first as a Purple Knight.
It was a sensational individual effort from Zelayandia that featured a spin move in the box before lifting a left-footed shot over the Caldwell keeper.

Caldwell's goals came in the 2nd minute and the 38th minute as the Cougars outshout UB by a 12-8 margin in the game.
Sophomore goalkeeper Sky Hernandez finished with three saves across the complete 90 minutes in her Purple Knight debut.
