Women's Swimming and Diving Slotted Fifth in NE10 Pre-Championship Poll
UB to compete in its first-ever NE10 championships this weekend (Feb. 12-15) in Worcester, Mass.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - Ahead of the four-day Northeast-10 Conference Championships in Worcester, Mass. (Feb. 12-15), the University of Bridgeport's women's swimming and diving team has been selected fifth in the NE10's Pre-Championship Poll released Tuesday.
The Purple Knights, who will be competing in their first-ever NE10's, have established themselves as one of the league's most consistent teams. They currently own 20 times that rank inside the top five of the conference this season.
Freshman Ceyda Genç has led the way for UB, accounting for five of those performances, including the conference's fastest times in both the 50- and 100-fly.
Genç was named the NE10 Swimmer of the Week on Dec. 16, while classmate Anna Forlani earned NE10 Rookie of the Week honors following her UB debut on Jan. 17.
Hazel Clark has also made her mark for the Purple Knights, owning a pair of top-five times in the NE10, highlighted by the second-fastest 50-back in the conference this season.
On the diving side, sophomore Amber Militrano has been recognized as the NE10 Diver of the Week on two occasions during the regular season.
In addition to its individual depth, Bridgeport will bring strong relay momentum into the championships. UB's 200-free, 400-free and 400-medley relays all enter the meet ranked second in the NE10.
The 2026 NE10 Swimming & Diving Championships will be broadcast LIVE on FloCollege ($), with coverage beginning on Thursday evening and covering both the afternoon and evening sessions on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
