Track and Field's Richards and Vandelli Claim USTFCCCA Indoor All-Region Honors
Richards finished 2nd in shot put in the region, 4th in weight throw; Vandelli placed third in the 800m.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Following a standout indoor campaign, graduate student Fiona Richards and sophomore Edoardo Vandelli of the University of Bridgeport's track & field programs have earned USTFCCCA All-East Region honors for their performances during the 2025-26 season.
Richards secured All-Region recognition in both throwing events after producing two of the top marks in the East this winter. The Virginia Tech transfer finished second in the region in the shot put with a throw of 13.52 meters, a mark she recorded at the Armory Collegiate Distance Carnival in early December.
Richards also placed fourth in the East Region in the weight throw, posting a distance of 16.44 meters at the same meet to cap an impressive start to the indoor campaign.
Vandelli earned All-Region distinction in the 800m after delivering a breakthrough performance midway through the season. The Italy native recorded a season-best time of 1:53.91 at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational in mid-February, a mark that ranked third in the East Region during the indoor season.
The honor marks Vandelli's second career All-Region selection, as he previously received the recognition following the outdoor season as a freshman.
The USTFCCCA All-Region awards are presented annually to the top five individuals in each event from each region, recognizing the strongest performers across Division II during the indoor season.
