Fortune of Women's Track and Field Earns CACC All-Academic Honors
Senior owns a 3.93 GPA as a biology major; She was also named to All-Academic following XC season.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - Senior Julia Fortune of the University of Bridgeport's women's track & field team added another prestigious honor to her outstanding 2025-26 campaign on Friday, earning a spot on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's All-Academic Team.
Fortune posted an exceptional senior campaign both academically and athletically for the Purple Knights. A Biology major with a sensational 3.93 GPA, she earned a spot on the CACC All-Academic Team following the cross country season as well.
On the course, Fortune garnered All-Conference honors after placing 13th at the CACC championships, helping lead Bridgeport to a fourth-place team finish. Earlier in the fall, she claimed the individual title at Mount Saint Mary College's Fall Pumpkin Run to earn CACC Runner of the Week accolades.
Fortune continued her success during the track & field season, rewriting the Purple Knights' record book by establishing new school records in both the 1500m and the 3000m.
CACC All-Academic Team CRITERIA:
*Student-athlete must be at least a sophomore athletically and academically
*Student-athlete must be in their second year at current institution
*Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale)
*Met CACC Championship Qualifying Standard during the season or competed in the CACC Championship
