Biljana Savic Named ECC Women's Volleyball Player Of The Week
Became First Player In UB History To Record Back-To-Back Triple Doubles Last Week
Central Islip, N.Y.-University of Bridgeport junior standout Biljana Savic (Novi Sad, Serbia) has been selected as the East Coast Conference Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for her outstanding play in matches that took place from October 28 through November 3, 2013.
Savic made history becoming the first University of Bridgeport women's volleyball player to record back-to-back triple doubles in wins over American International and Roberts Wesleyan last week, plus she had a double-double in her team's win over Dowling. On the week, Savic hit an impressive .475 on the week averaging 3.78 kills per set, plus she averaged 3.11 digs per set. Biljana opened the week with an 11 kills, 17 assists with seven digs performance in a 3-0 win over Dowling, and she followed that up with a triple-double versus American International (16 assists, 10 kills and 11 digs) and finished the week with 21 assists, 13 kills and 10 digs versus Roberts Wesleyan.
This week, Biljana and her teammates play two ECC road matches traveling to Molloy College on Tuesday evening and NYIT on Thursday night.
