Purple Knights Move To 10-0 In ECC Volleyball Play With Quick 3-0 Home Sweep Of Daemen

Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team remained perfect in East Coast Conference play at 10-0 with a quick 3-0 home win over the visiting Daemen College Wildcats, 25-5, 25-14, 25-13.  The Purple Knights are now 15-2 overall and have won 12 out of their last 13 matches.  The Wildcats fall to 1-22 overall and 1-9 in the ECC.

Junior Sarah Rosa (Itajuba, Brazil) led the UB offense with nine kills and a .412 attack percentage.

Graduate student Biljana Savic (Novi Sad, Serbia) added six kills, plus she led the team in assists with 16 and added five service aces and seven digs.

Seniors Larissa Oliveira (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) and Ying Shen (Nanjing, China) also each chipped six kills for the winners.

Giovana Soares (Grad., Sao Paulo, Brazil) contributed 14 assists on the night, and junior Martina Santia (Sezze, Italy) led the Bridgeport defense from the backline with 16 digs.

The UB women's volleyball team is right back in action on Saturday afternoon when the Roberts Wesleyan College Redhawks come to Hubbell Gym for a 2:00 p.m. East Coast Conference contest.
