Bridgeport Well-Represented On All-ECC Volleyball Teams

Central Islip, N.Y.-University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team is well-represented on the 2014 All-East Coast Conference team as three Purple Knights earned All-ECC recognition.

Graduate student Biljana Savic (Novi Sad, Serbia) earned her fourth consecutive spot on the First Team All-East Coast Conference Team, and she was also recognized for the second consecutive season as the ECC Player of the Year.  The multi-talented Savic is the only player in program history to notch 1,000 career kills, assists and digs.

Joining Biljana on the All-ECC First team for 2014 are junior Sarah Rosa (Itajuba, Brazil) and senior Larissa Oliveira (Belo Horizonte, Brazil).  This season marks the second consecutive season that Rosa has earned First Team All-ECC accolades.  Oliveira moves up to the ECC First Team after two seasons as a Second Team selection.

The UB volleyball team opens play in the 2014 East Coast Conference Championship Tournament at home, tonight, Friday, November 14 at 5:00 p.m. when the top-seeded Purple Knights face number four seed, Roberts Wesleyan College.
