Four UB Volleyballers Earn AVCA All-East Region Honors For 2014
Seniors Biljana Savic And Larissa Oliveira Earn Their Fourth Consecutive AVCA All-Region Accolades Plus Sarah Rosa And Ying Shen Also Honored
Lexington, Kentucky- Four members of the 2014 University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team have been selected as members of the 2014 American Volleyball Coaches Association of America (AVCA) All-East Region teams. Earning 2014 AVCA All-East Region honors are seniors Biljana Savic (Novi Sad, Serbia) and Larissa Oliveira (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) for the fourth straight season plus junior Sarah Rosa (Itajuba, Brazil) earned a spot on the AVCA All-East Region Team for the second straight season.
Savic and Oliveira are the only NCAA Division II players in entire country to have earned AVCA All-Region honors for four consecutive seasons this year.
Senior Ying Shen (Nanjing, China) earned AVCA Honorable Mention All-Region accolades after earning an All-Region spot the previous two seasons.
The UB women's volleyball team finished the 2014 season with an impressive 26-3 overall record reaching the NCAA Division II East Regional Final, and the Purple Knights also won their third straight East Coast Conference title this year.
