Katarina Krstonosic Named ECC Women's Volleyball Player Of The Week For The Fifth Time This Season

Central Islip, N.Y.-For the fifth time this season, UB junior Katarina Krstonosic (Kikinda, Serbia) has been selected as the East Coast Conference Women's Volleyball Player of the Week, after helping her team to a perfect 3-0 record during the final week of the 2015 regular season and first place in the ECC regular season standings.

Krstonosic averaged 3.00 kills and 3.27 digs per set in three wins by the Purple Knights last week. She also chipped in a total of six service aces and four blocks assists on the week and had an attack percentage of .316. In a hard-fought, five-set win at Dowling on Tuesday, Katarina had an impressive double-double with 19 kills and 28 digs. On the season, she leads Bridgeport in kills per set averaging 3.61.

The UB women's volleyball team will be in action this week hosting the East Coast Conference Championship Tournament in Hubbell Gym for the fourth straight season.  The top-seeded Purple Knights will host the number four seed LIU Post at 6:00 on Friday. November 20.  That match will be followed by number two seed, Dowling, facing number three seed, NYIT, at 8:30 pm.  On Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Friday's winners will meet for the ECC crown and spot in the 2015 NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Championship Tournament that will begin on Thursday, December 3.
