West Babylon, N.Y.-University of Bridgeport freshman volleyball player Amanda Keller (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) has been selected as the East Conference's Rookie of the Week for outstanding play in matches that took place from September 4 through 9, 2018. This is the second conference award that Keller has received so far in 2018, as she was recognized as the ECC Defensive Player of the Week following the season's opening week.
Keller averaged 2.6 kills and 1.43 blocks per set in a pair of Purple Knights' wins last week. In a four-set win over St. Anselm on Tuesday, she had 10 kills and six blocks, and followed that up with eight kills and four blocks in a straight sets victory over Assumption. Keller also added three digs and two service aces on the week.
Amanda's teammates, senior Ellie Rich (Highland Ranch, Colo.) and junior Morgan Knight (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) earned spots on the ECC Women's Volleyball Honor for their fine performance in last week's two wins for the Purple Knights.
This week, the UB women's volleyball team returns to the court on Tuesday, September 11 when they travel to Albany, N.Y. to take on the College of St. Rose.
