Volleyball Falls Twice On Friday To Open Play In IVHOF Clash Hosted By American International

Springfield, Mass.-It was a tough Friday afternoon for the University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team at the International Volleyball Hall of Fame Clash hosted by American International College, as the Purple Knights dropped to 1-6 on the season as they fell in straight sets against the host AIC Yellow Jackets (15-25, 10-25, 14-25) and to the Molloy College Lions (19-25, 14-15, 19-25).

Against, AIC sophomore Paola Hernandez (Bayamon, P.R.) had six kills, and setter Jaden Drollinger (Queens Creek, Az.) dished off 14 assists.

Versus Molloy, freshman Marissa Mullins (Circleville, Ohio) led UB with nine kills; while Drollinger added 13 helpers.

Freshman Lucia Tomiello (Caltrano, Italy) had a team-high 12 digs.

The Purple Knights will wrap up action in Springfield on Saturday with two more matches taking on Daemen at 12 noon followed by Bentley at 2:30 p.m.
