Volleyball Has Four Named CSC Academic All-District

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - In honor of standout careers, both academically and athletically, four student-athletes from the University of Bridgeport's volleyball squad have been selected to the 2024 College Sports Communicators' (CSC) Academic All-District Team.
The 2024 Academic All-District® Volleyball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Bridgeport's CSC Academic All-District Honorees:
Jaden Drollinger / Senior / GPA: 3.63 / Major: Business Administration
- 2024 CACC Setter of the Year (First Team)
- Four-time CACC Setter of the Week
- Led the CACC in assists per set (10.11)
- Selected as 2021 ECC and 2023 CACC Setter of the Year
Paola Hernandez / Senior / GPA: 3.59 / Major: Business Administration
- 2024 CACC Player of the Year (First Team)
- Named to D2CCA All-East Region First Team
- Led the CACC regular season in kills per set (3.56), total points (453.5) and points per set (4.09)
- 2021 ECC Rookie of the Year
Madison Jongsma / Senior / GPA: 3.53 / Major: Nursing
- Appeared in 28 matches and 102 total sets
- Ranked second on UB in total blocks (46)
- Also tallied 103 kills and 14 aces
- Selected to CSC Academic All-District Team in 2022
Lucia Tomiello / Junior / GPA: 4.0 / Major: Psychology
- Named to 2024 CACC All-Conference First Team
- Selected to D2CCA's All-East Region Second Team
- Ranked 4th in the CACC in hitting percentage (.350)
- Led UB in both total blocks (77) and solo blocks (20)
