Volleyball's Bowman and Tomiello Earn 2025 CACC All-Academic Team Honors

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Senior Lucia Tomiello and sophomore Ella Bowman of the University of Bridgeport's volleyball program were both honored by the CACC on Thursday, earning 2025 All-Academic Team recognition for their excellence in the classroom and in competition.

The Purple Knight duo, listed below, are part of 36 volleyball players from 11 schools named to the CACC's 2025 All-Academic Team. Tomiello picks up the honor for the third time in her illustrious career.

2025 Bridgeport Volleyball CACC All-Academic Team Selections

Ella Bowman – Sophomore | 3.67 GPA | Health Sciences
Lucia Tomiello – Senior | 4.00 GPA | Psychology

CACC All-Academic Team CRITERIA:

*Student-athlete must be at least a sophomore athletically and academically.
*A student-athlete must be in their second year at current institution.
*Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale)
*A first-year graduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as both an undergraduate and a grad student.
*A second-year graduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) just in their graduate studies program.
*Competed in at least 2/3s (67%) of team's games/matches or started in at least ½ (50%) of a team's games/matches.
