Women's Wrestling Tallies 19 Wins at Muhlenberg Novice Tournament
Four Purple Knights finish undefeated in their round-robin brackets.
ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Highlighted by four undefeated performers and 19 total wins, the University of Bridgeport's women's wrestling team put together a solid showing at the Muhlenberg Novice Tournament on Sunday.
TEAM HIGHLIGHTS
UB enjoyed a strong Sunday showing with four Purple Knights finishing undefeated in their round-robin brackets.
At 138 pounds, Idalia Lopez dominated her draw with a 4–0 record that included three pins and a tech fall. Olivia Hopkins matched that 4–0 mark at 145 pounds, securing three pins of her own.
Fellow 145-pounder Jelene Lainez also impressed, going 3–0 with every victory coming by fall. In the 180-pound bracket, Linette Diaz posted a perfect 3–0 day highlighted by two pins.
Bridgeport also saw productive outings from Callisto Banks (131 lbs) and Hoshena Gemme (116 lbs), who each notched multiple wins in their respective tournaments.
