Women's Wrestling Defeats Maine Maritime for First-Ever Dual Meet Win

CASTINE, Maine – Propelled by a trio of pins and a tech fall, the University of Bridgeport's women's wrestling team earned a 19-15 win at Maine Maritime on Friday night. The narrow triumph marks the Purple Knights' first dual meet win in program history.

Sophomore Lindsey Rywolt along with freshmen Idalia Lopez, Jelene Lainez and Linette Diaz all picked up victories for UB on Friday.

Rywolt earned a dominant 10-0 tech fall win while Lainez and Diaz each registered pins.

Rywolt, who was recently ranked 18^th in the country at 124 lbs, improves her record to a sensational 20-3 this season.

Lopez joined in with a pin triumph of her own in an exhibition contest.
