Cross Country Completes 2024 Campaign at NCAA East Regional
Held at the Matt St. James Trail in Rochester, N.Y.
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The University of Bridgeport's cross country teams sent a trio of student-athletes to the 2024 NCAA East Regional held on Saturday at the Matt St. James Trail in Rochester, N.Y.
On the men's side, it was freshman Edoardo Vandelli leading the way with a 75th-place finish. The CACC All-Conference honoree clocked a 10K time of 34:28.2.
Vandelli, who finished 15th at the conference championship meet two weeks ago, led the Purple Knights at all six of their races this season.
On the women's side, Bridgeport was represented by Julia Fortune and Stephanie Lickteig. Fortune tallied a 6K time of 28:25.2 to place 125th while Lickteig registered a mark of 28:52.3 to finish in 128th.
With the cross country campaign now complete, the Purple Knights will now turn their attention to the indoor track and field season.
