Jones and Napoli Selected as UB's Purple Knights of the Week (April 14-20)

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – After putting forth superb efforts in several Bridgeport victories last week, juniors Mya Jones (softball) and James Napoli (men's lacrosse) have been selected as UB's Purple Knights of the Week, for the week ending April 20.

Jones strung together a sensational week for a softball squad that went 6-2 last week. The Delaware native batted .458 (11-for-26) with seven RBIs and eight runs scored. She had at least one hit over the final seven games, including a home run and a triple in a sweep of Holy Family on Saturday. Jones currently ranks second in the CACC in RBIs (48) this season and third in on-base percentage (.497).

Napoli was equally terrific during a 17-7 UB win over Caldwell last Wednesday afternoon. The Long Island native racked up a team-high 10 points for the second time in his last three games. He finished with a season-best six goals to go along with four assists. Napoli now leads the Purple Knights in both total points (36) and goals (23) this season. He is also tied for the team lead in assists with 13.
