Men's Lacrosse Rolls Past Caldwell for Fourth Consecutive Win

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Riding a three-game winning streak into Saturday night, the University of Bridgeport men's lacrosse team kept the momentum rolling with a dominant 25-2 CACC victory over Caldwell. The Purple Knights' latest win improves their record to 6-4 overall and 3-2 in conference play.
UB's 25 goals matches the program record for a single game while also signifying the Purple Knights' third straight contest with 20-plus tallies.
UB seized control immediately and never looked back, erupting for eight goals in the first quarter and adding 10 more in the second.
The Purple Knights continued to pour it on after halftime, holding Caldwell scoreless until the 2:46 mark of the fourth quarter and finishing with massive advantages in both shots (55-13) and ground balls (42-18).
Leading the charge was James Napoli, who delivered a monster performance with 12 points on 10 goals and two assists.
Darien Fray followed with seven points on four goals and three assists, while Luca Runyan orchestrated the offense with a team-high five assists to go along with six ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Connor Cullen once again dominant in face-off opportunities, winning 14-of-17 attempts while scooping up nine ground balls and adding an assist. He continues to lead the country in face-off percentage (80%) this season.
UB showcased its depth as well, with nine different players scoring goals and 12 players recording at least one point.
Stephen Trama, Noah Beard, Ashton Lankowski and Matthew Levantini all scored twice, while the Purple Knights' defense was equally impressive.
Liam O'Neill led the way with four of UB's 16 caused turnovers in the contest.
