Men's Lacrosse Boasts Five CSC Academic All-District Honorees

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – In recognition of exemplary efforts in the classroom and on the lacrosse field, five members of the University of Bridgeport's men's lacrosse team have received College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors for 2026.

UB's honorees included four seniors and one junior, all of whom played instrumental roles in helping the Purple Knights to a program-record nine wins this past spring. They also helped UB to its highest finish in the CACC standings after going 5-3 in the conference (3rd place).

Bridgeport Men's Lacrosse CSC Academic All-District Honorees:

Connor Cullen* | Senior | 3.55 GPA | Health Sciences
- Honorable Mention All-American (USA Lacrosse)
- Honorable Mention All-Region (USILA)
- CACC All-Conference First Team
- Named to USILA National Team of the Week on April 2
- Led the country in FO% (74.1%)
- Led the CACC in total ground balls (194)
- Set a new CACC record for career face-off wins (648)
- Finished second all-time in CACC history in career ground balls (357)
- Second career CSC Academic All-District award

Darien Fray | Senior | 3.72 GPA | Biology
- Ranked second on UB in goals with 32 (career high)
- Added eight assists for 40 total points (career high)
- Finished with 19 ground balls and seven caused turnovers
- Registered eight multi-goal games
- Scored a career-high eight goals vs. AIC (3/25)
- Started all 16 games

Ashton Lankowski | Junior | 3.71 GPA | Business Administration
- Appeared in all 16 games
- Totaled 20 goals and 11 assists
- Added nine ground balls
- Registered multiple points in eight of UB's last nine games
- Scored a season-high four goals vs. Dominican (4/18)
- Second career CSC Academic All-District award

James Napoli* | Senior | 3.64 GPA | General Studies
- Selected to USILA Senior All-Star Game (UB's first-ever)
- Honorable Mention All-Region (USILA)
- CACC All-Conference First Team
- Two-time CACC Player of the Week selection
- Named to USILA's National Team of the Week on April 24
- Led the Purple Knights in goals (48) and points (68) – both career-highs
- Tallied multiple points in 13 of UB's 16 games
- Registered program records of 10 goals and 12 points vs. Caldwell (3/28)
- Third career CSC Academic All-District award

Ryan Thomas | Senior | 3.96 GPA | General Studies
- CACC All-Conference First Team
- Honorable Mention All-Region (USILA)
- Started all 16 games
- Totaled 22 caused turnovers, 17 ground balls, 1 goal, 1 assist
- Recorded at least one CT in 12 different contests
- Finished career second on CACC's all-time CTs list (100)
- Also totaled 115 career ground balls
- Third career CSC Academic All-District award

*Connor and James are also denoted as CSC Academic All-America® finalists. They advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members.
