Men's Swimming and Diving Places Third at ECAC Winter Championships
Purple Knights pile up 31 top-10 marks, 10 podium finishers.

EAST MEADOW, N.Y. – Led by a total of 31 top-10 finishes and 10 podium spots over the three-day event, the University of Bridgeport's men's swimming and diving team placed third at the ECAC Winter Championships held this weekend at the Nassau County Aquatic Center on Long Island. The Purple Knights piled up 1,374.50 total points to finish first amongst Division II programs and ahead of three DI teams.
SUNDAY RECAP
The Purple Knights opened the final day with a strong showing in the 1650-free, as Sultanbek Azat took third in 15:41.13, followed closely by Pacome Sidelski in fourth (15:54.44) and Ryan Wall in fifth (16:01.14).
Henry Klode added a 14th-place finish in 16:57.00, while Aaron Williamson (18th, 17:16.53) and Dillan Salgado (19th, 17:19.95) rounded out the group's depth.
In the 200-back, Brady Stangl led the way by winning the B Final for ninth overall in 1:53.17, with Darcy Higgins right behind in 10th at 1:53.98 and Giancarlo Zamora taking 12th in 1:55.00. Wall returned for a 17th-place finish in 1:56.51, and Noah Jones (20th, 1:58.15) and Sidelski (22nd, 1:58.88) added additional scoring.
Christian Toussi highlighted the 100-free with a fourth-place finish in 44.72, while Camilo Villalba Vera secured 15th (46.46), Klode placed 21st (47.56), and Williamson finished 22nd (47.66).
In the 200-breast, Jurica Dragun raced to third in 2:00.19, followed by Maximiliano Pedrozo Sevila in fifth (2:04.67) and Matt Burrows in 21st (2:13.41).
The 200-fly saw Ignacy Olownia win the B Final for ninth overall in 1:52.21, with Higgins placing 10th (1:53.12), Salgado 14th (1:57.40), Zamora 16th (1:59.16), and Jones 19th (2:00.44).
UB's busy weekend concluded with a strong podium finish in the 400-free relay, as Villalba Vera, Toussi, Dragun, and Azat combined for third place in 3:02.43.
