Women's Lacrosse Defeated by Holy Family in OT on Senior Day
Purple Knights scored the final three goals of regulation to send the game into extra time.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Playing their first overtime contest since last year's season-opener, the University of Bridgeport's women's lacrosse team dropped a 9-8 matchup to Holy Family on Saturday. The Senior Day loss puts the Purple Knights' record at 5-8 overall this season and 2-4 in the CACC.
Bridgeport climbed back from an 8-5 deficit to force OT, scoring the final three goals of regulation. UB's game-tying tally was scored by Tara Dimaio with 1:09 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Speaking of Dimaio, she became UB's all-time leader in caused turnovers on Saturday with her third CT of the game. She now has 103 caused turnovers in just 42 career games.
Dimaio also added two goals, two assists and a team-best four draw controls.
Graduate student Tereza Kreuzova served as UB's leading scorer with a team-high three goals. She recorded her 100th career point after putting UB up 2-0 in the second quarter.
Emily Stuart and Samantha Targonski served as UB's two other goal-scorers with Stuart finding the back of the net twice.
Max McDermott also aided the Bridgeport offense courtesy of her fourth three-assist game of the season. She continues to lead UB in points in 2025 with 54 on 36 goals and 18 helpers.
Elizabeth Pitts, meanwhile, led the Purple Knights with four ground balls.
Senior goalkeeper Jackie Mellia, who recently broke UB's all-time saves record, finished with eight stops on Saturday. She now has 526 career saves across 57 games played.
