LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The fifth-seeded University of Bridgeport women's lacrosse team had its 2026 season come to a close on Tuesday courtesy of a 17-6 loss at fourth-seeded Georgian Court in the CACC Quarterfinals. The Purple Knights end the year with an overall record of 8-7.
The host Lions raced out to a 7-1 advantage early in the second quarter and never looked back, carrying an 8-3 lead into halftime and continuing to build from there.
Dani Strong led the Purple Knights offensively with a hat trick, marking her 10th game this season with multiple goals, while Elizabeth Pitts added a pair of tallies and Tara Dimaio chipped in one.
Dimaio's goal was particularly significant, as it tied the program's single-season record with her 55th of the year, matching Danielle Kreitler's mark set in 2024.
Despite the early deficit, Bridgeport showed flashes on the attack, finishing with 24 total shots, but Georgian Court controlled possession throughout by holding a decisive 18-7 edge in draw controls.
Payton Noack led UB with three draw controls, closing out a standout season in which she ranked first in the CACC in the category.
Dimaio also capped off a historic career in Purple and White, finishing as the program's all-time leader in goals (185), points (242), caused turnovers (141) and ground balls (178). She concludes the 2026 campaign ranked third in the CACC in goals and fifth in points with 68.
