BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Playing their first home game of the 2025 season, the University of Bridgeport's women's soccer team rattled off a 4-0 win over Lincoln University on Tuesday night. The decisive victory pushes the Purple Knights' overall record to 1-1-2 while starting CACC play at 1-0.
It was a dominant effort from UB in their conference opener. The home squad outshot Lincoln, 26–2, including a 12-1 advantage in shots on goal. The Purple Knights scored a pair of goals in each half of action.
Junior Pia-Laura Wisnewski opened the onslaught in the 30th minute off a feed from freshman Keriana Heredia to put Bridgeport on top. Just before halftime, junior Marit Blom doubled the advantage with an unassisted strike to give the Purple Knights a 2–0 cushion at the break.
In the second half, freshman Kamila Bono calmly converted a penalty in the 76th minute to extend the lead, and sophomore Luiza Macedo capped the scoring in the 84th minute, finishing off a setup from classmate Maja Nielsen.
Wisnewski, Blom and Macedo are now all tied for the team lead with two goals apiece this season.
On the other end, goalkeeper Angelina Griva needed just one save to secure the clean sheet in her first win of the season. Griva has now yielded just four goals in four games which ranks second in the CACC.
