NEWARK, Del. – Playing against one of the CACC's two nationally ranked teams, the University of Bridgeport's women's soccer squad was handed a 2-0 loss at No. 14 Wilmington on Saturday. The defeat puts the Purple Knights' record at 2-3-2 this season, including a 2-2 mark in the conference.
The Wildcats put goals across in each half, gaining a 1-0 edge in the 14th minute before adding to their lead in the 62nd minute.
The Purple Knights' two shots on goal in the contest, both of which were saved by the Wilmington keeper, were registered by Luiza Macedo and Marit Blom.
UB's goalkeeper Sky Hernandez finished with two stops in her second start of the season.
Wilmington outshot Bridgeport, 17-8, while posting a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.
